What are different types of auto parts
Fluids and Lubricants
Cooling System
Let’s now look into each one in detail
Oil Filter
The Oil Filter is found under the hood of the vehicle, near the oil pan attached by the engine.
The Oil filter is used to keep out the impurities in the engine oil.
The engine oil is passed through the oil filter. If there are any impurities in the engine oil, the oil filter abstracts (and stops) the impurities. So the engine is protected by the impurities.
If the oil filter is not replaced in time, this will have two direct impacts.
– There will be clogging and the flow of oil to the engine would be limited, which would cause problems with lubrication in the engine. This might cause overheating and other major problems.
– The other consequence of not replacing the oil filter in time is that the impurities enter the engine and cause damage to the engine and disrupt the operations and the process.
Advice to car owners about Oil Filter
It is recommended that you change the oil filter on every oil change interval.
Something Interesting you should know about oil filter
Oil filter is made of almost 11 different parts that include: Gasket, Mounting Plate, inner element support, upper end cap, lower end cap, Arch-pleated, Prescription-blended Filter Media, Spiral-wound Center Tube, Coiled Spring, Filter Canister & Silicone Anti-Drainback Valve.
Brake Pads
The Brake pads are found Inside the front tyres and the rear tyres.
The brake pads of the car are used to slow down or bring the vehicle to a complete halt.
The brake pads compress themselves against the brake disc. This causes strong friction. After this friction is caused the car is slowed down or stopped as per the intensity of the brake applied.
Will create difficulties in stopping the vehicle and can cause life-threatening accidents.
If the brake pads are not replaced in time, there will be difficulty in stopping the vehicle. Moreover, there might be major problems like brake failure.
Sometimes you can smell burning tyres in your car and you check if the tyre is hot and if the tyre is hot, it means there is a problem related to brake pads.
Advice to car owners about brake pads
To get the brake pads checked on a regular basis and get it changed once the braking of the vehicle is affected or starts making noises.
Brake failures have caused major accidents in the past. So it is recommended you check these on a regular basis. If your vehicle is making noises as you apply the brake, check the brake immediately.
Air Filter
The Air Filter is found under the bonnet of the car.
The air filter is used to filter the air which is sucked into the engine.
The air filter works by filtering out all the dust and particles in the air from entering the engine. This prevents anything going wrong in the engine.
Air passing through it will be choked and the combustion in the engine will be affected which will cause more fuel consumption and less power.
If the air filter is not replaced in time, Impurities will enter the engine and this will decrease the efficiency of the engine.
Advice to car owners about Air Filter
It is recommended that you change the air filter in regular intervals as mentioned by the manufacturer. Some car manufacturing brands like Toyota recommend changing once a year, other brands like Ford and Chevrolet recommend once in three years.
So it is best to check your car manual and also get it checked at your next regular maintenance schedule.
A weird story about Air Filter
In 1999, a tragic accident occured in Mont Blanc tunnel in france. There were almost 39 people killed by a truck. When experts analysed the reason for the accident, they realized it was a cigarette thrown out of the vehicle and was sucked by the air filtration system. This caused the air filter and entire truck to ignite. High quality Air filters don’t have such problems.
AC Filter
The AC filter is found inside the dashboard, where it sucks the air filters it and passes it to the car. It is also known as a cabin air filter.
The AC filter is used to filter the air circulated in the Air Conditioning of the car.
The AC filter works by filtering the air passing through the air conditioning of the car and prevents dust and particles from entering the car and ensures the air inside the car is clean.
If the AC filter of the car is not replaced in time, this will affect the cooling process of the Air Condition and Air blowing. Moreover, you might also get some dust particles entering the car.
Advice to car owners about AC Filters
It is recommended that you change the AC filters at regular intervals mentioned by the manufacturer. Please check your vehicle manual for more details about the exact interval for your car.
Spark Plug
The spark plug is Inside the engine of the car.
The spark plug causes spark (or ignition) which is used for combustion in the engine.
The spark plug creates an electric spark. When fuel and air is compressed in the engine and a spark is created this causes a minor blast in the engine.
If the spark plug is not working properly or not replaced at the right time. It will cause misfiring in the engine which in turn will increase fuel consumption and decrease power. This reduces the efficiency of the engine. Moreover, if the spark plug is not working properly, you might have trouble starting the car.
The spark plugs are manufactured with different materials. And, based on the materials used, they are categorized.
Following are the most common types of spark plugs
- Copper Spark Plug
- Platinum Spark Plug
- Double Platinum SparkPlug
- Iridium Spark Plug
- Silver Spark Plug
Please refer to the manufacturers guide to purchase the right type that suits your car.
Advice to car owners about spark plug
It is recommended that you change the spark plug at regular intervals mentioned by the manufacturer. Please check your vehicle manual for more details about the exact interval for your car.
Also, make sure you get your spark plugs cleaned and check at your regular maintenance schedule.

Compressor
The compressor of the car is found under the bonnet.
The compressor is an important part of the air conditioning system of the car. It rotates the AC gas and refrigerant coolant in the AC Cooling system.
The compressor pulley is connected to the belt.
Once the compressor is required the clutch magnetizes and helps in the rotation of the AC gas and the liquid through the AC cooling system.
If the compressor is not replaced or fixed in time, the air condition of the car will not function properly. The AC system will blow hot air.
Advice to car owners about the compressor
It is recommended that you run the Air conditioning system for at least ten minutes every week, even if it is not necessary.
Please get your compressor checked every two years.
Something Interesting About Compressors
Let’s talk about general compressors for a second, the ones used in building and other places, apart from vehicles. The heat from these compressors is extremely high and it cannot be cooled down unless you use oil, cooler air, or water. The interesting part is that the heat, which is normally cooled down, is used to give heat to building or home.
Radiator
The radiator is found under the bonnet, behind the show grill.
The radiator is used to cool down the coolant which flows through the engine.
The coolant enters from the top side of the radiator and passes through the small grill-type pipes to cool down and exits from the bottom side.
The radiator is important to maintain the temperature of the engine. If the radiator starts leaking it is recommended to change immediately or the engine will overheat and cause major damage to the engine.
Advice to car owners about Radiator
In order to maintain your car, you should check the radiator on a regular basis and ensure there are no leaks.
Something Interesting about the Radiators
The radiators work on the principle of Newton’s law of cooling. According to this law, the heat is transferred from the point of high temperature to the point of low temperature.
The radiator is connected with the hoses and the radiator has many small tubes for liquid to flow. The air moves around the tubes and cools the system. The cold liquid is transferred to the heated region and the cycle repeats.
Fuel Filter
The Fuel Filters can be found inside or outside the fuel tank.
The Fuel Filter is used to Filter the fuel of any impurities.
The fuel filter works by blocking out the impurities and letting the pure fuel pass through the filter.
If the fuel filters are not replaced in time, there will be clogging of impurities and debris in the filter. This will create problems in starting the car and sometimes your car might stop suddenly.
Advice to car owners about fuel filters
It is recommended that you change the fuel filter at regular intervals mentioned by the manufacturer.
Normally it is recommended to change it every 30,000 miles. Please check your vehicle manual for more details about the exact interval for your car.
Headlights
Headlights are found in the front of the vehicle, of course, 😅 They are the main source of light while driving in the dark
Headlights of the car are used at night time. They are also used in cases of fog or smog when the visibility is not clear. Headlights are also used to indicate an intent to change lane or turn using the indicator.
By shining the light ahead using the bulb(s) installed in it, there are different types of headlights with halogen bulbs, xenon bulbs, HID bulbs and recent are LED headlights
If the headlines are not replaced in time, it will affect the visibility at night time or during problems with poor visibility.
Advice to car owners about headlights
It is advised to keep checking on a regular basis if all the bulbs are in working conditions.
Sometimes the headlight cover is faded. A faded headlight causes disruption in clear light. Get it cleaned for better visibility.Â
On a side note, you can use toothpaste to clean your headlight.
Tail Lights
The taillights are found at the rear end of the vehicle. No Brainer!
The taillights are used to indicate if the car is using the brakes or the driver intends to go in the reverse direction.
When the driver uses the brake, the stoplight, and the taillight light up.
If the driver shifts the gear in reverse the reverse light and taillight light up.
The driver behind you will not know your intent to slow down or stop. It will also not communicate when you get your vehicle in reverse gear. This could sometimes cause serious problems.
Advice to customers about tail lights
If the tail light is not working you shouldn’t ignore it. Because if you are stopping your car urgently for some reason and someone behind you is having no indications, this could cause accidents.
Please keep checking on a regular basis if all the bulbs are in working condition.
Shock Absorbers
The Shock Absorbers are found near the tyres of the car, under the fender.
Shock absorbers are used to prevent vehicles from shaking on uneven roads.
The shock absorbers expand and compress depending on the speed breakers, bumps, potholes, or crevices in the road which might cause the disturbance while driving.
The ride will be very uncomfortable for the driver and the passengers and will cause further damage to the suspensions
Advice to customers about Shock Absorbers
It is important that you keep a check on your shock absorbers and if they are faulty, fix it immediately. As a bad shock absorber might create health problems in the spine for the driver and the passengers.
Ignition Coil
The Ignition Coils are above the engine, connected to the spark plugs.
The Ignition coil is used to give the spark plug the current required to create the spark.
In modern vehicles, the Ignition coils are connected with the wire harness which passes the timely current to the Ignition coils which is passed to the spark plugs to cause a spark for combustion.
When the ignition key is turned on, low voltage flows to the coils from the battery. Once the primary winding of the ignition coil receives current, a magnetic field is created. Now, this is used to provide the required current to the spark plug.
If the ignition coils are not replaced in time this will cause misfiring in the engine and reduce the efficiency of the engine. Moreover, if the ignition coils are not working well, the spark plug will also not work well, this might even lead to problems in starting the engine or stopping your car suddenly.
The ignition coils go back more than a hundred years!
It was invented by Charles Kettering back in 1910-1911. This was the first time when an electrical system charged up the ignition and starter motor at once.
Advice to customers about Ignition Coils
If it is detected that the ignition coils should be changed, please change them as soon as possible.
Transmission Fluid
The transmission fluid is inside the transmission assembly of the car.
The transmission fluid is used to keep the transmission assembly, including gears lubricated.
The Transmission fluid is in the form of lubrication. It lubricates the mechanical gears in the transmission and prevents it from causing any friction and runs the transmission smoothly.
If the transmission fluid is not refilled or replaced in time, the fluid over the period of time will deteriorate.
Once the transmission fluid is reached a lower level it will not prevent friction between the gears. This will cause the transmission to fail or damage the complete transmission.
Advice to customers about Transmission Fluid
It is recommended that you change the transmission fluid at regular intervals mentioned by the manufacturer. Please check your vehicle manual for more details about the exact interval for your car.
Interesting Fact about Transmission Fluid
Until the 1970s Whale oil was used as a transmission fluid in vehicles. In the US alone, around 14 million kg of sperm whale oil was used.
This was because the whale oil is lubricative and stable in both high temperature and low temperature. It was banned later because of the Act for prevention of endangered species.
Condensor
The condenser is found under the bonnet, behind the show grill.
The condenser is used to cool down the AC gas.
The AC gas enters the Condenser and passes through the small grill type pipes. When the AC gas passes through the pipes, it coles down the temperature.
If the condenser is not working properly, especially if there is a leak, the air condition of the car will not blow cold air.
Advice to customers about Condenser
If your condenser goes bad in winter, you can certainly ignore it for a while. As there is very minimal use of cold AC in winters. You will have to make it a priority to repair or fix condensers in the summers.
Belts
There are mainly two belts in the car. One is the Timing Belt and another one is the Serpentine belt. Both are found attached to the main engine of the car
The timing belt synchronizes the crankshaft and the camshaft. The serpentine belt runs through many pulleys and provides main power from the engine to many parts
The belt is connected with the main pulley. When the main pulley rotates, in turn, all the other pulleys in the vehicle are rotated.
If the belts are not replaced in time, they may slip on the pulleys which can affect the performance of the vehicle and create squealing noises. Also can cause the vehicle to stop.
Advice to customers about car belts
If you can easily spot these two signs about damaging the belt, you should immediately replace it. One is cracks on the belt and the other is that the belt makes squealing noises.
Water Pump
The water pump is found under the bonnet of the car along with other spare parts assemblies.
The water pump is used to circulate the coolant through the engine and the cooling system.
The water pump is connected with a belt. As the belt rotates, there is a circulation of the coolant passing through it.
If the water pump is not replaced in time, this will cause the engine to overheat as coolant will not pass through quickly.
Advice to customers about Water Pump
If you have a faulty water pump, replace it immediately as taking this casually will make your engine overheat. If you let your engine overheat too often for too long, this might create other major problems with your engine.
Alternator
The alternator is found under the bonnet, next to the engine.
The alternator is used to generate the electric power for all the electronic applications inside the car and also in recharging the battery.
The alternator pulley is connected to the belt which rotates the rotor inside the alternator coil which generated power for the vehicle electronics and recharges the battery also.
The rotor of the alternator is connected with the belt. As the belt rotates, this creates rotatory motion in the alternator as well. There is a magnetic field inside the alternator and this is induced in the coils inside the alternator. This generates electricity. This electricity is used to run the electronic appliances and recharge the battery of the car.
If the alternator is not replaced or repaired the vehicle electronics will not function properly. The battery will also not be charged.
Advice to car owners about Alternator
The alternator should be replaced or repaired if it is not working. It seems like there is nothing in major correlation with ignoring the alternator. But when the alternator is not working, the battery remains uncharged.
As the battery drains completely, you will have problems in the ignition of spark in the spark plug as well. This might lead to problems with starting your car.
Gear Filter
The gear filter is found inside the transmission assembly of the car. It is also known as a transmission oil filter.
A gear filter is used to filter the Gear oil (the transmission fluid) from any particles or debris.
The gear oil passes through filter mesh in the gear filter which does not allow the particles to pass.
If the gear filter or the transmission fluid filter is bad, The gear oil (the transmission fluid) will not filter and cause damage to the transmission. This will also reduce the efficiency of your transmission assembly.
Advice to customers about Gear Filter
It is recommended that you change the gear filter at regular intervals mentioned by the manufacturer. Please check your vehicle manual for more details about the exact interval for your car.
Brake Disc
The brake discs are found in the inner side of the front and rear tyres.
The brake discs are used to slow down the vehicle or to bring the vehicle to a complete halt.
The brake discs work by compressing the brake pads to the tyres. This causes friction which slows down the vehicle and if applied with more intensity the vehicle is brought to halt.
If the brake discs are not replaced or fixed in time, this will create difficulties in stopping the vehicle, also known as brake failure. This can cause life-threatening accidents.
Advice to customers about Brake Discs
It is recommended that you replace the brake discs after 3 disc polishes.Â
Bumpers
The bumpers are found at the Front end and the back end of the vehicle.
Bumpers are used to maintain the exterior look of the vehicle and protect the vital parts and assembly from accidents.
The bumpers work in absorbing the impact of the front end and the rear end of the car and reduce the low-speed collision impairment.
If your bumper is damaged and you are not replacing it in time, you are risking the protection of your car. Moreover, you might also feel the energy generated in slow speed impacts.
Advice to car owners about Bumpers
If you notice any cracks in your bumper or if you notice any damaged tabs and clips that are attached with the bumper. It is a sign you should immediately replace your car bumper.
Catalytic Converter
The Catalytic Converter is found at the rear end of the vehicle.
The catalytic converter is used to maintain the exhaust of the vehicle. It reduces the harmful gases from the exhaust of the vehicle.
The catalytic converter works by changing the harmful substances and gases from the exhaust of the vehicle. This is done by chemical reactions inside the catalytic converter. Harmful gases like nitric oxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen dioxide are converted to less harmful substances like carbon dioxide and water vapours.
If the catalytic converter is not replaced in time, the exhaust fumes of the car will be extremely harmful to the environment and moreover, the fumes will be dark and ugly.
Advice to customers about Catalytic Converter
If you ever notice dark fumes from the exhaust of your vehicle, please get it checked. If the car mechanic recommends changing your catalytic converter, change it, as the gases from the exhaust are extremely harmful to humans, the environment, and climate change.
Engine Mounting
The image shown is for reference, it is not the actual picture of the mount.
The Engine Mounting is found around the engine.
Engine Mounting is used to Support the engine and reduce engine vibration effects.
The engine mountings work to ensure there is no direct metal to metal contact between the engine and the car body. The engine mountings are made using rubber materials.
If the engine mounting is not replaced in time, the vibrations of the engine will be felt in the complete vehicle.
Advice to customers about Engine Mounting
When your engine mountings are damaged, this will create vibrations as you drive. It might disrupt the good mood on long drives. It is recommended to replace engine mountings once damaged.
Gear Mounting
Gear Mountings or GearBox Mount are found in the lower side of the transmission
The gear mountings of the gearbox mount is used to support the transmission and reduce the gear change jerks.
The GearBox Mount or the gear mountings work by dampening the vibrations. The mounting is basically made of rubber material that prevents direct contact of transmission assembly with the body of the car.
If the gear mountings are not replaced in time, the vibration through the transmission assembly will be felt throughout the vehicle.
Advice to customers about Gear Mountings
It is recommended to replace the gear mounting immediately if they are damaged.
Starter Motor
Under the bonnet, next to the flywheel.
The starter motor is used to start the engine of the vehicle.
The starter motor is connected with the ignition switch. When the ignition switch is turned it powers the starter motor which cranks the engine flywheel and starts the engine rotations.
If the starter motor is not replaced in time, your vehicle will have problems with starting.
Advice to customers about Starter Motor
If your starter motor is not functioning, it is recommended to immediately replace it.
Engine Oil
Engine oil can be found under the bonnet, by the engine..
The Engine Oil is used to provide lubrication to the engine.
The engine oil ensures the engine is well lubricated. The engine oil minimizes the friction inside the engine and maintains smooth operation
If the engine oil is not replaced in time, there will be multiple problems in your car, some of the problems are:
- Your car’s fuel efficiency will be reduced.
- There will be overheating in your car engine.
- There might be noise coming from your engine.
Advice to Car Owners about Engine Oil
Please change your engine oil at regular intervals. Also, change the oil filter.
Temperature sensor
The temperature sensor is located by the engine of the car, near the thermostat.
The temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature of the engine. It is used to monitor the heat of the engine. It ensures that the engine is not overheating.
The temperature sensor works by sensing the change in temperature across two metals. There is a diode that measures the resistance and accordingly reports the change in temperature, after measurement this is displayed on the speedometer .
If the temperature sensor is not working properly and not replaced in time, the correct temperature of the engine will not be shown on the speedometer. And, if the engine overheats the driver will never know about it. This will cause major damage to the engine.
The temperature sensor, a very small, yet important spare part of the car, is a thermistor. This is a type of resistor used to measure the temperature. The word thermistor is a mix of both words – thermal and resistor.
Thermistor was invented by Samuel Ruben in the year 1930.
Advice to Car Owners about temperature sensor
If your Temperature sensor is not functioning, it is recommended to immediately replace it.
Window Regulator + Motor
The window regulator and the motor is found Inside the doors of the car.
The window regulator and motor is used to lift the windows of the car up or bring it down.
When the person riding in the car of the driver of the car, presses the window switch, this initiates the motor attached. The motor rotates and this creates a circular motion which is transformed into linear motion that either lifts the window up or down.
If the Window regulator + motor are not working and not replaced, The windows of the car will not move up or down.
If there is overheating in the power motor and it is causing the window to get stuck, either up or down. In such cases, you should allow your window motor to cool down, when it is cooled down the motor will start to work again. If it doesn’t then you will have to get the car checked at the service station.
Advice to car owners about Window Regulator + Motor
Please check if it is your motor that is not working or your regulator that is creating a problem. Sometimes there is no necessity to change the complete system. If the complete system is not functioning properly, then go for the complete change.
Speedometer Assembly
The Speedometer Assembly is behind the steering wheel of the car, or you can say it is connected from the dashboard of the car to the transmission system of the car.
To display speed, engine temperature, fuel level and RPM which is a basic speedometer.
Modern cars are equipped with advanced technology and they have electronic speedometers which have screens and display a lot more information.
Â
The working of the speedometer is in such a way that it is connected with all the sensors in the car. It is connected with the temperature sensor, speed and rpm gauge and the fuel monitor along with the engine parameters such as engine oil level. When there is anything unusual or malfunction in the car it is displayed, in modern cars, in case of something important there is an alarm or alert as well.
If the speedometer assembly is not replaced in time, the correct data will not be displayed. This can result in many other problems like overheating, running out of fuel. Apart from that, you might drive over the speed limit or below the speed limit and you will not know unless a police officer stops you.
If there is overheating in the power motor and it is causing the window to get stuck, either up or down. In such cases, you should allow your window motor to cool down, when it is cooled down the motor will start to work again. If it doesn’t then you will have to get the car checked at the service station.
Advice to customers about Speedometer Assy
It is important that you don’t ignore the importance of speedometer assembly in your car. Please make sure to replace it immediately.
A quick history
Measuring distances and average speed goes way back. Early Romans marked chariots and measured distance by counting the revolutions.
Later, in the eleventh century, a Chinese innovator introduced a mechanism that would strike a drum after a certain distance, thus helping in measuring speed and distance. Speed was properly recorded in the 1500s by chip log.
The very first patent for rotating shaft speed indicator was registered by Nikolas Tesla. However the development of the speedometer is credited to A. P. Warner, founder of Warner Electric Company.
Crank Position Sensor
The crank position sensor is found on the engine body, close to Crankshaft.
The crank position sensor is used to relay the position of the Crankshaft.
The position of the crankshaft position sensor works in such a way that it is connected with the teeth on the reluctor ring attached with the crankshaft. As the crankshaft moves, as in rotates, the sensor produces a pulsed voltage signal.
The position and the RPM of the Crankshaft is relayed through the sensor to control the ignition coil and fuel injection timings.
If the crank position sensor is not replaced in time, it will cause engine misfiring, engine vibrations and acceleration issues.
These are some signs that you need to repair or replace the crank position sensor–spare part of the car.
- Check engine light comes on
- Issues in starting the car
- Problem in acceleration – Uneven acceleration
- Misfiring in engine
- Vibrating when rough idle
- Less fuel mileage
Advice to car owners about Crank Position Sensor
It is recommended that you do a computer based check to confirm the issue and replace the sensor.
Spoilers
The spoilers of the car are found in the front side of the car, below the bumper and backside above the boot.
The spoilers are used in sports cars or race cars to maintain the aerodynamic flow of the vehicle. They prevent the car from being lifted in the air.
The Spoilers of the car work on the simple principles of aerodynamics. The air passes through the spoilers and keeps the vehicle firmly on the ground.
Â
The spoilers smooth the turbulent air underneath and in the rear end of the car. If the turbulence is less, the resistance of the air is less. Spoilers are designed in a manner that reduces the lift and creates a force that moves it towards the ground.
Â
In simple words, it is like flaps in an airplane that control its motion.
If you are driving a sports vehicle, at very high speed it can lift itself in the air and cause a life threatening accident.
Have you ever wondered about the mastermind behind the science of aviation? It was Bernouli.
Â
Bernouli’s principle states that when the velocity increases, there is decrease in pressure. This is why if spoilers are not used in cars, the car might lift itself.
Advice to car owners about spoilers
Spoilers not just ensure safety and smoother ride, they also enhance the look of your car. Make sure your car stays ready for a fast ride and looks awesome at all times. So, make sure you replace the spoilers if damaged.
Power Steering Rack Assembly
The power steering rack assembly can be found In between the front wheels of the car.
The power steering rack assembly turns the wheels right and left once the driver turns the steering wheel.
The rack assembly is connected with the power sterling through pumps and steering fluid. When the driver of the car turns the car this causes circular motion and as a result of this there is force transmitted to the assembly which pumps the energy in the wheels of the car.
If the power steering rack assembly is not replaced in time, the wheels will not be turned as per the steering wheel or worse, they will not turn at all.
Have you ever wondered about the mastermind behind the science of aviation? It was Bernouli.
Â
Bernouli’s principle states that when the velocity increases, there is decrease in pressure. This is why if spoilers are not used in cars, the car might lift itself.
Advice to car owners about Power Steering Rack Assembly
It is recommended to replace it as soon as possible, you will not be able to drive the vehicle at all.
Bonnet Shocks
The bonnet shocks can be found on the sides of the vehicle, below the bonnet.
The bonnet shocks are used to keep the bonnet up once opened.
The bonnet works by creating a pressure through the gas which takes the load of the bonnet and keeps it open unless pressure is put to close it.
If the Bonnet shocks are not replaced in time, the shocks will not be able to keep the bonnet open and can fall on the person’s head with full force and cause life threatening injuries.
Have you ever wondered about the mastermind behind the science of aviation? It was Bernouli.
Â
Bernouli’s principle states that when the velocity increases, there is decrease in pressure. This is why if spoilers are not used in cars, the car might lift itself.
Advice to car owners about Bonnet Shocks
It might seem like this is not a very important part of the car and you might take it casually, but you never know when you will have to open the bonnet in case of any work or emergency. So it is recommended to replace it immediately.
Side Mirrors
The side mirrors can be found on sides of the vehicle installed on front doors.
The side mirror is used to check if there are any vehicles behind you on the parallel lanes.
The car side mirrors are Convex mirrors, these capture more in their frame compared to normal mirrors. And they can be adjusted accordingly.
If the Bonnet shocks are not replaced in time, the shocks will not be able to keep the bonnet open and can fall on the person’s head with full force and cause life threatening injuries.
Advice to car owners about Side Mirrors
You can replace the complete side mirror or just the mirror, it is completely up to you. It is important to consider this for a safe ride.
Piston
The piston can be found Inside the engine of the car.
The piston is used to rotate the crankshaft which in turn rotates the wheels.
In this guide to spare parts, we are covering the basics of the working of the piston. The piston works by compressing the fuel during ignition and is pushed due to the combustion. It is again pushed up by the crankshaft which compresses the combusted air and pushes it out toward the exhaust.
If the piston is not replaced in time, there will be problems in the engine, there might be more damage to the complete engine and there will be overheating as well causing more serious problems.
Advice to car owners about Pistons
If the piston is damaged, do not try to start the engine or drive the vehicle as it will cause major damage to the engine.
Intake & Exhaust Valves
The intake and exhaust Valves are found Inside the engine, above the cylinder.
The intake and exhaust Valves are used for the intake of the fuel and air for the combustion and for the exhaust of the smoke after combustion.
The intake and exhaust valves work in such a way that the camshaft is shaped in a way that it has ridges which push open the intake valve through which air and fuel is injected into the cylinder. And after the combustion the exhaust valve is pushed open by the same camshaft and the smoke is pushed out through the exhaust valve.
If the intake and exhaust Valves are not replaced in time, the engine will not be able to complete the combustion process, there can be problems that could escalate major for the engine, due to no intake and exhaust.
Advice to car owners about Intake & Exhaust Valves
It is recommended to replace the required valves only but the complete set of either intake or exhaust.
Fuel Pump
The fuel pump is located Inside the fuel tank, towards the end of the tank. If the fuel pump is electric, it is normally not found in the tank.
The Fuel pump is used to pump the fuel from the fuel tank towards the engine.
There is a small motor inside the fuel pump. This motor pushes the fuel from within the tank towards the engine of the car.
If the fuel pump is not replaced in time, the fuel will not reach the engine for combustion and the vehicle will not start, if the engine does start, the engine will misfire.
